2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to register as a tutor or to create a student account in your own name.

- Tutors must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check if tutoring students under 18, and are encouraged to display their DBS reference on their profile.
- Tutors must conduct all sessions through the video platform specified at the time of booking and must not redirect students to unmonitored channels.
- Tutors are responsible for ensuring they have a suitable, professional environment for delivering online sessions.
- Tutors must not solicit students to book sessions outside of the Find Your Tutor platform to avoid service fees.
4. Student Accounts
- Students are responsible for maintaining a quiet and suitable environment for online sessions.
- Students under 18 must have parental consent, and, where appropriate, a parent or guardian should be present or nearby during sessions.
- Students must not record sessions without the explicit consent of the tutor.
5. Booking Sessions
- Sessions are booked directly through the Find Your Tutor platform.
- A booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.
- Upon confirmation, both the tutor and student will receive a booking confirmation and the relevant session link via email.
- It is the responsibility of both parties to ensure they are available and ready at the scheduled time.
6. Payments
All payments are made directly through our platform at the time of booking. By making a payment, you agree to the following:
- Session fees are as displayed on the tutor’s profile and are payable in full at the time of booking.
- Payments are processed securely via our third-party payment provider. Find Your Tutor does not store card details.
- Find Your Tutor may charge a platform service fee on top of or as part of the session rate, which will be clearly displayed before checkout.
- All prices are in GBP (British Pounds) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Receipts will be sent to the email address registered on your account.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
Please read this section carefully before booking a session.
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled session start time are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session are non-refundable, unless the cancellation is made by the tutor.
- If a tutor cancels a confirmed session, the student will receive a full refund within 5-10 business days.
- If a student fails to attend a session without prior cancellation (a ‘no-show’), no refund will be issued.
- If significant technical issues on the tutor’s side prevent the session from taking place, a full refund or rescheduling will be offered.
- If a student experiences technical difficulties, Find Your Tutor will assess the situation on a case-by-case basis, and no automatic refund is guaranteed.
To request a refund or report a cancellation dispute, please contact us within 48 hours of the session at contact@findyourtutor.co.uk.
8. Technical Requirements
Online tutoring sessions require a stable internet connection, a functioning device with a camera and microphone, and access to the specified video platform. Find Your Tutor is not responsible for:
- Technical failures on the part of the student or tutor, including internet outages, hardware faults, or software issues.
- Downtime or technical issues caused by third-party video platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet).
We recommend both parties test their equipment before the first session.
9. Session Conduct
- All sessions must be conducted professionally and respectfully.
- Sessions must take place using the video platform confirmed at the time of booking. Tutors must not move sessions to alternative platforms without platform approval.
- Recording a session is only permitted with the explicit consent of all parties. Recordings must not be shared publicly or used for commercial purposes.
- Any form of harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate suspension from the platform.
- Tutors must not provide personal contact details to students under 18 outside of the platform.
